If you ever thought of any pure exotic, delicious and a pure vegetarian cuisine, Then start thinking of the Cameroonian mashed potatoes and beans. Its a typical one for the Southern and west Cameroons. It’s very popular among the ”Bamilike” people and English speaking Cameroons. It can be very easily digested and easy to chew and swallow. Rich in protein and carbohydrate.
Another vegetarian cuisine. Kids love it to bits.
MODE OF PREPARATION;
Suck beans in a large volume of water and allow them to rest for a minimum of 6 hours or let it rest overnight in the fridge just as i prefer.
Rinse beans and boil with plenty of water or steam in a pressure cooker. Make sure you cover your pot well. Peel potatoes, wash them and dip them in salted water and boil in When the beans are cooked drain and rinse them properly . Crush the chilli and keep aside. Chilli is very optional 400 ml of water. When you notice the potatoes is getting soft add some cooked beans and mix . Use a wooden African stick to mash your potatoes while you add some Maggi and salt depending on your taste and drip some palm oil . Crush with a pestle make sure you don’t crush too much . When you notice the nice yellowish even colour . You can taste to make sure the salt and Maggi are sufficient .
Its usually very hot so allow to cold down. Dish serve in a plate . Enjoy your exotic meal. Please don’t forget to subscribe on my channel
